2007 Senior Nationals Tournament

Local Judoka Earn Bronze at Senior Nationals

Mika Senda (U of L) and Julia Lindeman (LJC) teamed up to bring home a bronze medal from the Senior Canadian Judo Championships held in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec on the weekend. The pair have been practicing Ju no Kata together for approximately four years. Ju no Kata involves an intricate demonstration of Judo techniques including offensive, defensive, advancing and retreating moves. The movements of Ju no Kata are founded on the principles of self defense, taking many hours to master. Judging is based upon technique, timing, fluidity and spirit.
The duo have competed together at several meets and previously medaled at the Fukuda Invitational Kata Championships in San Jose, California. This is their first trip together to nationals and Sensei Yosh Senda is very pleased with the results.
Congratulations to Tyler Boras who added a Senior National Championship to his long list of Judo achievements. Boras went undefeated in Senior Men’s -81 kg action, winning all four fights by Ippon. Way to go Tyler.
