Assistant Sensei Ben K. returned to competion after a 5 year break and wowed the crowd with his high flying throws. He took a gold medal for his efforts. The locals picked up a total of 29 medals at this year’s Senda Cup held at the University on the weekend.
Medal tally included 13 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze. Judoka from across the province attended the tournament hosted by the Lethbridge Kyodokan Judo Club and the University of Lethbridge Judo Club.

Fighting in the -73 kg division, Mark R. grabbed a pair of first place finishes in both IJF and Senior Men’s competition. Brett I. (-60 kg) earned a gold medal in the Juvenile division and a silver in IJF action.

In Kata competition, Jennifer P. and Julia L. teamed up for first place honors with Jane S. and Joanne L. finishing second.

Other gold medal winners included Christopher S., Tim R., Luke B., Andrew S., Nicole T., Brett F., Hiromitsu Y. and Scott G.
